I Haven't Changed...

i was walking when suddenly
   a puppy came trotting past
      a puppy came trotting past

         i don't know when this would last-
      this feeling that gnaws inside me
   this sorrow
this pain ...


              i've been like this for
                             ages now
            walking. walking. walking


i was walking late when suddenly
   a dog came trotting past
      a dog came trotting past

         i don't know when this would last
      this sorrow this pain
   this emptiness...

a dog came trotting past
    i was amazed -
        how time
                 changes everything!

        but somehow
                 i know

I haven't changed.
